Summer Break Activities

Preventing the Summer Slide

Summer is a great time for exploring the world outside the classroom!  Summer is also a great time to practice skills you have learned during the year in order to be prepared for the upcoming school year.  Teachers recommend that students read daily over the summer. Children that read just 4-6 books over the summer can avoid the summer slide and actually gain reading levels!  Children who do not read over the summer can lose up to 3 months of instructional time gained during the school year.  Please join Titan Hill in our efforts to prevent the "summer slide."  Encourage your student to read and practice learned skills over the summer.

We have provided some activities on this website that your student can engage in over the summer that will help them retain skills they have learned during the year.

Have a FUN and SAFE summer!!!!

Remember, KEEP READING!!!!
